As with porcelain veneers, porcelain tooth crowns are fabricated using a ceramic material. Dental crowns are recommended when your teeth have worn down, are cracked or have broken. Repairing damaged teeth with porcelain crowns will add strength, stability and durability to the tooth in addition to restoring your dazzling smile.
Once Dr. Bartolome and Dr. Swearingen has determined that a porcelain crown is the best solution of you, he will take a mold of your tooth and send it to the dental lab for custom design. When the crown is ready, our doctors will use a dental bonding agent to adhere the crown to your tooth. This is usually done with little or no anesthesia.
The porcelain crown will be a very natural color, matching your teeth so closely, no one can tell. The only hint will be that since you're smiling more, you must have had your teeth cleaned!
